Batya Guarisma is a Law Clerk at Powell Litigation. She graduated from Seneca Polytechnic’s Law Clerk Diploma program in 2024 with High Honours and received the Minden Gross LLP – Lucrezia Correale Memorial Award for academic excellence.

Batya supports her supervising lawyers with the service and filing of court documents, substantive and procedural legal research, and a broad range of drafting tasks, including pleadings, affidavits, correspondence, opinion letters, and mediation briefs. She also assists with preparation for Small Claims Court and Superior Court trials, as well as appeals before the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Batya brings a strong background in academic and creative writing to her work and strives to approach interactions with clients and others with compassion and professionalism.
